What is it about the newspapers? Okay, all props to them for opening up the scandal of MPs expenses but they need to get a grip.
In some cases, innacurate reporting has taken place for the sake of sensationalism, and that is what gives newspapers a bad name.

Why has it been televised news companies that have been left to report the true facts in an unbiased way?

The British press has a bad reputation that needs to be resolved. The only way this can happen is if they build their reputation up through accurate and unbiased reporting. That responsibility is as much the responsibility of the reporters as it is their editors, but the editors are the last barrier.
